Literacy London began with a phone call to a local radio program. The caller was looking for someone to help two single mothers improve their reading skills. Freda MacDonald answered that call, becoming Literacy London’s founding volunteer.
Decades later, we are still a group of neighbours helping neighbours to live fuller, more independent lives. Literacy London volunteers teach, support, empower and inspire our students to reach their goals.
If you want to do something that has a direct effect on another’s life and the health of our community, Literacy London has a place for you as a volunteer tutor.
